Established in 2002, BACK FACTORY boasts nearly 130 locations and is considered to be one of the market leaders of the self-service bakeries sector in Germany. Represented country-wide by its own branches and by franchise companies, BACK FACTORY achieved the highest average sales turnover of the sector of 673,000 Euro in 2010. The company achieved a turnover of 80 million Euro and employed 1,500 regular and part-time employees in 2010.

Unlike in conventional bakeries, the products are baked onsite according to demand at the nearly 130 BACK FACTORY shops. The customer selects the products according to the principle of self-service, pays at the counter and packs the products himself/herself.

Behind BACK FACTORY is the large bakery Harry-Brot GmbH, which is in its tenth generation of private family ownership, and which is one of biggest German baked products manufacturer.
